A Litte Weekend Project!

I am working on gifts for a upcoming baby shower, and really wanted to give this a whirl. I purchased the tutorial from Lyn Pratt (www.stampindesign.blogspot.com) a few weeks ago and added my own twists. I CASEd the idea for the card as well, but put the two together, and POW!

I'd love to hear what you think! Off to make more gift boxes! I've got my work cut out for me!

Before I go, coming soon is my annual Christmas Stamp-A-Stack. If you'd like to come. It will be $25 per person, and we'll make 3 each of 5 different holiday cards (with envelopes). This is a perfect opportunity to get a head start on your holiday cards with that handmade charm.

October 22, 2011 @ 11:00 a.m. at my house. Please contact me if you'd like to come.

Sneak Peek and My Digital Studio!!

As I frantically get ready for the Birthday Stamp-A-Stack next weekend, I thought I'd share a sneak peek of one of the projects I've put together. I admit, I totally CASEd this one from a magazine, but it was just too cute not to.
CUTE! Huh??? It's even cuter in person, but you'll just have to come see it to believe it!

August 20, 11:00, my house. RSVP TODAY!

I've also been lucky enough to get myself a little b-day present and purchased My Digital Studio. OMG! I didn't know what I was missing out on all this time, but I'm hooked. Guess I'm gonna have to really start using that camera! Here's what I made. What can you make???

The new catalog is coming!

THE NEW 2011-2012 IDEA BOOK & CATALOG IS COMING!!!

This month will be your last chance to grab some of the retiring stamp sets, ribbon, and other items that you fell in love with in the 2010-2011 IB&C.

Click here to view the LAST CHANCE LIST and order online while supplies last!!!

I gave this sweet little treasure to Jan Farring at our Big Shot class in April. I fell in love with it when I made it, especially that flower, which is the Fun Flowers die cut in Very Vanilla then daubed at the tips with Melon Mambo and Old Olive. The effect is beautiful. I topped it with a few drops of Crystal Effects just for fun as well. The paper is the Sew Suite Designer Series Paper from the 2010-2011 Holiday Mini catalog, but this little project can be paired with any paper. I found the journal in the dollar bin at a local craft store.

Here is another example:

I know, it's sideways, but I couldn't seem to get it to turn! I took the pic with my phone because I forgot to charge the batteries for the camera, and this was a special project for a friend who was on her way to pick it up, so I didn't have time. This one uses the Nautical Designer Series paper and Travel Log stamp set from the 2011 Summer Mini that is available now. I LOVE this stamp set.

ANNOUNCEMENTS:
  • I now have a Stampin' Up link that you can use to order directly from Stampin' Up! You can get the hostess benefits you earn, have your order shipped directly to you, and view the catalogs online! Just click here:  http://www.stampinup.net/esuite/home/shellyabbs/.

See what you missed???

So Saturday was our Big Shot class. We went over all the different kinds of dies and tools associated with the Big Shot. Information overload for sure, but Jan came prepared with a great printout of instructions for everyone! I wanted to share some of the sample cards that I made for the event.

Coming Soon:  Christmas In July Stamp-A-Stack. Details to come in the next few weeks. Stay tuned!!!

Herringbone Technique using Elegant Soiree Designer Series Paper

Hi Everyone!

I know I’ve been MIA for the last couple of months. I wanted to let you all know that I haven’t fallen off the face of the earth, but I have been creatively challenged! I’m working hard to get back at it, and in doing so have been trying some new techniques. I thought I’d share, and I’d LOVE your feedback.

In case you haven’t heard, Stampin’ Up’s Sale-A-Bration is happening right now but ends the end of March. I’m hoping to have a workshop before then. What’s Sale-A-Bration you ask??? This is the best Stampin’ Up sale of the whole year. For every $50 in products you order, you receive a free item from the Sale-A-Bration catalog. If you didn’t receive one of these, please let me know! In the meantime, as soon as I get my ducks all lined up around here (and the weather figures itself out!), I’ll announce the next workshop date. Until then, I’m hoping to send lots of these emails with new projects I’ve CASEd or conjured up!

So, without further ado…………….

Stampin’ Up Fans, meet the Herringbone Technique:

This is a super technique for using scraps, and I’ll be using it OFTEN, I’m sure! I LOVE it with the Elegant Soiree Designer Series Paper, and I haven’t found anything that I love about that paper yet, so that’s saying something!!! Wouldn’t this make an awesome Father’s Day card???? If you’d like the instructions for this technique, please just let me know.
