Anything But A Card Class! 12/3/2010 at 6:30 p.m.
I know...I've been MIA for a couple of weeks. My Monday posts have gotten skipped! Computer problems...blah, blah, blah.
However, by popular demand, I will be having a class on 12/3 at 6:30 in the evening. This one will be a bit different. There will be no cards made at this class. We'll be stepping out of the box and making an assortment of projects that could easily be used as office gifts or stocking stuffers, and the give aways will be Christmas gifts in their own right. To top it off, you will leave with a printed supply list and instructions for each project! These are all projects that can easily be altered for gifts and prizes year-round. Have I peaked your attention? How about a sneak peak at one of the projects???.....
This is a super cute holder for a legal pad. Great for Christmas lists, grocery lists, or even to keep on your desk or by the phone for notes! Very functional, but oh so cute!
So, the gory details:
Date: Friday, December 3, 2010
Where: My house
Time: 6:30 p.m.
Cost: $30 ($5 Early Bird discount if you register and pay by November 22, 2010)
What to Bring: You smilin' face!
What you Get: Personalized instruction and supplies for 4-5 3D projects as well as take home instructions to make them on your own!
Please, come and enjoy some snacks, great laughs, good people, and extraordinarily fun projects. Hope to see you all there!

Ghosts and Goblins!!
Halloween is 32 days away! Let the countdown begin!
I was asked by a friend to make her some Halloween cards. I'm honored! I never thought I would have people requesting my cards!!! Several of these ideas are CASE'd, so I'll give credit where it is due (I always try to change some element when I CASE).
MUMMIES IN WAITING:
I love these cards! I think they are some of my favorites. For Mummy Boy I used Sahara Sand and Very Vanilla CS. I cut the Very Vanilla into different sized strips, distressed them with Crumb Cake ink, and used Sticky Strip to adhere them to the card stock. Mummy Girl was the same except I used Pretty in Pink CS and added the Pretty in Pink satin bow. I found the google eyes at a local craft store; my daughter found the ones with the eyelashes (who could resist!) and gave me this fun idea to make a mummy girl.

For those of you who have the Bird Punch, these little ghosts were made by punching out three birds then trimming around the heads. The little ghost was made using the wing. Card stock is Basic Black, Pumpkin Pie, and Whisper White. I used the Wicked Cool stamp set to stamp the bats, Teenie Tiny Wishes for the "happy halloween," which was daubed with Pumpkin Pie ink and punched with the oval punch then outlined with the scalloped oval punch.
These handsome little ghosts were made using the Owl Punch. They're pretty darned cute, I think!!. I used Whisper White as the card base with Basic Black as the background. Ghosts were punched with the Owl Punch then I trimmed the feet off. The moon was punched with the 1-3/4" circle punch in Daffodil Delight then daubed a little with Pumpkin Pie. I used half of the bat stamp from Wicked Cool in Basic Black for the little bats. The pumpkins are made from the oval punch. I punched out 3 ovals then distressed the edges with Chocolate Chip. The veins from the pumpkins are from the Bird Punch. The little sentiment (Wicked Cool stamp set) in the corner was stamped in Whisper White craft ink onto Basic Black and punched with the the oval punch and highlighted with the scalloped oval in Whisper White.

I fell in love with this card! Basic Black for the base, then Pumpkin Pie across the bottom stamped with the spider web from Wicked Cool in Basic Black then embossed with black embossing powder and a heat gut. Whisper White was used for the top, punched along the bottom edge with the Scalloped Border Punch. The witch's feet, hat, and sentiment are also from Wicked Cool, and I colored the stamp with Basic Black and Pumpkin Pie. Across the top is a Black Satin ribbon, and across the bottom is Chunky Glitter in black held fast with a piece of Sticky Strip (I love that stuff!).
Original by Lynn Pratt
Last, but certainly not least, is the EYEBALL! I used the Circle Cutter to cut Whisper White to 4.25 inches. I drew the lines with my Real Red Stampin' Write marker. I used the 1-3/4 inch circle punch for the center in Marina Mist then daubed Marina Mist over the top for some dimension. I used the 3/4 inch circle punch in basic black for the center. TA DA!! Super easy, and super fun little card!!
Hope you enjoyed, and as always, please contact me if you'd like more information on any of the projects you see on this blog.

Ready for Christmas??
Had a really fun time at a workshop last night for a fried. We made 2 holiday coordinating scrapbook pages with a Christmas card. This was a really fun project to put together. I think my favorite part of doing a workshop is seeing the creativity that comes from other people. I say "WoW! I never would have though of that," a lot! Now that the workshop is over, I can share!!!
Here are the pages:
I used Very Vanilla 12x12 and Old Olive 12x12 cardstock with Holly Jolly Designer Series Paper, the Jolly Jingles jumbo roller from the holiday mini in Cherry Cobbler, and some of the new glitter brads from the holiday mini as well.
And the card:
(Sorry, the picture is a little bit blurry - darned camera!) The card uses Cherry Cobbler as the base with Old Olive on top, Cherry Cobbler punched with the Scalloped Edge Border Punch, and Very Vanilla for Santa. Santa was stamped in Basic Black then colored with Stampin' Write markers in Real Red and Basic black to color in the big guy. I used my 2-way glue pen and added some Dazzling Diamonds glitter. The stamp set is Jolliest Time of the Year.

Happy Monday!!!??
My family went to the beach over the weekend. The weather was gorgeous and the shopping was amazing. We got home yesterday afternoon, and I dropped! Fun is almost always followed by exhaustion. Unfortunately, this last little mini-vacation signifies the end of summer for me, which means back to work, work, work.
I've got some simple and fun 3 x 3 cards to share today. These each feature a different technique and highlight some of the new stamp sets in the Holiday Mini. I'm pretty sure I have some new faves here!
If you haven't gotten yours yet, please let me know and I'll drop one in the mail.
Paisley Prints, Pumpkin Pie ink and Card Stock, Glitter, Hemp string ribbon
French Foilage, More Mustard, Early Espresso and Old Olive Stamp'n'Write Markers, Glassy Glitter

Today is Back-To-School day in the land of Abbs! It's been a fun summer, but the boredom was setting in quick with my munchkins. I'm happy for them to have something to do besides drive me batty.
(Speaking of batty...Halloween is quick approaching. Do you have any fun ideas for Halloween costumes?? I'd love to hear them)
In the Back-To-School spirit, I made the kids' teacher some pencil cups for their desks:
I think they were a hit. I am absolutely in LOVE with the Newsprint Designer Series Paper.
Coming Soon: A ribbon box is in the making. It's sure to be a big hit at the next workshop and maybe even the Christmas Stamp-A-Stacks coming up in October.

Whether we like it or not, the holidays are fast approaching. Have you seen it too?? Subtle hints like school starting and Halloween decorations in stores. My son asked me the other day what he should be for Halloween! Yikes!!
Well folks, I guess that means it's time to breakout the Christmas ideas too. There is nothing worse than hitting the week after Thanksgiving and not having your Christmas cards ready, right????
I'll be hosting a Stampin' Up Stamp-A-Stack on October 10. This is a Sunday. If you'd like to come but can't make it on a Sunday, please let me know. I'm entertaining the idea of a whole weekend event and can easily add Saturday October 9.
This will be at my house starting at high noon.
We will be making 15 cards (3 each of 5 different layouts). Here is a sneak peek at one of them:
The cost for this class will be $25 and include all supplies necessary to make all of the cards. If you need to make additional cards, you will be more than welcome to do so, and they will be $1 per card.
Payment is due at the time of registering for the class, and I can accept Paypal (please contact me for that information). There will be a $5 discount for registering before October 1.
Hope to see everyone there!!!

So, I said it was going to be a "buggy" weekend, and a "buggy" weekend it was! I know it's Wednesday, but it still counts cuz it's my Monday.
My sister-in-law came over on Sunday and helped me with several fun "buggy" ideas. We laughed a lot and actually were pretty productive.
My "buggy" workshop has, unfortunately, had to cancel. Darn vacations and back-to-school crunch! It's all good though, because I'm stock full of fun ideas for future workshops. Here are a few:
I CASEd this box from Jan Farring. It's so simple that I just love it! We made several on Sunday.
We also made several cards to go inside the box. All of these cards are using the Bugs and Kisses stamp set. For a complete supply list, please contact me. I'm happy to share. :)

Coming up next time: Briana's workshop! Briana is having a workshop on August 29, and my ideas are all lined up. I'll leak little tidbits between now and then.
For those of you itching to use those creative fingers, I'm planning a Holiday Stamp-A-Stack for October. More info to come, but if you can't wait, contact me and I'll dish the dirt!

Wow! So this is my first blog post EVER! I don't even know what I say (that's something new!)
So let's get to it:
This is a sneak peek of a card we're going to make at a workshop on August 22. The hostess wanted something with bugs, so bugs she's gonna get! I had a lot of fun creating it though, and I'm pretty sure it fits the bill.
Pretty cute, huh?
Here's the "recipe:"
Cardstock: Always Artichoke and Whisper White
Stamps: Bugs & Kisses
Inks: Always Artichoke, Crumb Cake, Early Espresso, and Real Red
Punch: Oval and Scalloped Oval
Easy Peasy!
Stay tuned because my mission this weekend is to go "BUGGY!"
